T-minus 14 days and counting! We have gotten great feedback from the first books that were given out for review. Comments, such as: “I couldn’t put it down,” “I read it in one seating,” “I cried and I laughed,” were told us by several of those first readers. I would like to share another excerpt from the book today:
We spend so much time trying to figure out the “Why” and the “What” when we need to look to the “Who”. The Lord has a purpose behind all that comes into our lives, even our pain and sorrow. My favorite Bible character is Job. The book devoted to his testimony helped get me through the first few months of Johnny’s life. I immersed myself in God’s Word trying to make sense of all that was happening to us. I had heard of this person that I thought was a “superhuman” and wondered how he could have endured what he went through, while staying faithful to God.
As I read this powerful account of Job’s reaction to unimaginable pain, I realized he was human after all. Not a “superhuman.” He was just a man that grieved deeply over his loss and hated even the day he was born, but stayed true to God. In spite of his deep pain and agony, he kept his focus on the Lord. He didn’t always react in a perfect way, but he knew his strength came from the Lord.
Job had a group of friends that blamed his sin for his trials and a wife that told him to “curse God and die”. However, Job knew that somehow God had a plan in all of it, even though he didn’t know what it was. He would believe God was in control.
Job 23:10 “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
