When I am weak, Then Am I Strong

1 Corinthians 1:27-29 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

The Bible tells us that God’s ways are not our ways, neither His thoughts our thoughts.  When we look for someone to do a particular task, we seek for someone that is best qualified to do the work.  I mean, if we want someone to work on our car, we search for a qualified mechanic.

God on the other hand works things in the exact opposite order.  He has a task to be done, then qualifies the person He choses to do the work.  He isn’t looking for the one that would most likely fill the bill, but the person that we may never chose to accomplish the work of God.  People that have there lives seemingly in order and the most competent are not the ones that God seeks after.  He choses shepherds, fishermen, tax collectors, even a boy with a lunch to do His work.

You see, God wants to use people, that people would never use!!  The weak, the not so wise (in man’s estimation), the lowly and despised, God will use so that He would receive the glory and not man.  God uses the lives of people with special needs on a regular basis to teach, bless and exhibit the Lord’s strength to those that that are intelligent and strong physically.  You see, when God does a work with a seemingly unqualified vessel, we can only stand back and say, “look at what the Lord has wrought!”

The truth is, that none of us are qualified to do the work of the Lord in and of ourselves.  It is the Lord that will qualify us to do the tasks He desires us to do.  So when you feel you have nothing to offer the Lord, you are exactly where God wants you!  Allow Him to guide you to the places and the people that He wants to use you to reach.  He has a work for all of us to do, we just need to get over ourselves and let Him use us the way He choses.  It may be a hard road, but it is the “road less traveled” for a reason.  That’s because it’s the road that only we can walk with Him!!  Our road, guided and prepared for us by the Lord.

Desire to do the Lord’s work today and see how He will qualify you!
