Finding Life This Easter

Luke 24:5-6 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

When the women came to the sepulcher where Christ’s body was laid, bring spices to preserve His body, they found the stone that was covering the opening to the tomb rolled away.  They entered into the tomb and the Lord’s body was gone; they were then met by two angels and were frightened by the sight.  The angels asked them one of my favorite questions in the Bible, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?”  Jesus had told them that He would raise from the dead, but the disciples didn’t have a full understanding of all that Christ had taught them yet.  They left the tomb and went to tell the other disciples what they saw and heard.

Resurrection day is the greatest day in human history.  No one has ever risen from the dead, never to die again!!  The Lord is alive and well, and is very active in the world today.  He came that mankind could be saved from their sin. He died in our place so that we, like Him, can live forever.

The question today is, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?”  I ask that question because so many people are looking for life, but searching among the dead.  Only Jesus Christ can bring us eternal life.  No religion, no amount of good works, not even keeping the Ten Commandments can give life.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (Emphasis added)

Jesus is the only way to have eternal life.  Friend, if you are seeking for life, come to Jesus, don’t seek for the living among the dead.  Life is through a living Savior, not the dead works of man.

This Resurrection Sunday, please be sure that you have trusted in the only one that died for you, and rose three days later and is alive today wanting to give you life.
