Grateful for Victory!

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Because of the resurrection of Christ, we know that we have victory over the grave!  Our bodies shall rise someday!  Paul writes to the believers in Corinth that if there is no resurrection then their preaching is vain or empty.  But, Christ IS alive today, and because of that truth, we will live forever!!

Paul goes on to say that, because of that truth, we need to stay steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding in God’s work.  Many people confuse the motivation behind living and standing for the Lord.  It is NOT so we will gain the resurrection, but because we already have victory over death.

Have you thanked God for the victory that you possess as a Child of God lately?  Easter has passed and our focus will turn to other things, however; we should never forget the victory that we have today in Christ and be thankful for it.

Are we living a steadfast, unmovable life?  Do we take a stand for Christ in the workplace or in our neighborhood.  Do we let people in our sphere of influence know that we are the children of God?  Are we having an impact on those around us?

Paul also encourages us to abound in God’s work.  Are we serving the Lord?  Do we have a ministry that we are involved in or supporting in some way?  There is a reward for our service.  We don’t serve the Lord for nothing.

The day after we celebrated the resurrection, let’s continue to be thankful for VICTORY!!Allow that victory to be our motivation to stand for Christ and serve Him with an expectation of reward.

Because He lives, we can face tomorrow!
