The Christian life is a life that is to be lived by faith. We are saved through faith, by the grace of God, but after we have believed in the Lord to save us, we begin a journey of continual faith. Most believers have a faith that wavers. We can believe God for some things, but we depend on logic and circumstances for other things. However, faith does not follow logic, nor should it rely on circumstances.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith says, that I already possess that which I have hope for. Hope has the idea of a desire with an expectation!! So when we are living a life of faith, we are saying that we expect God to provide whatever we are asking for, as though we already have it. It is the evidence that we need, even though we cant see it.
This type of living makes no sense to the natural man because it is a spiritual concept. The sad truth is, is that it make no sense to many of those that have trusted in Christ. They have exercised faith to be saved, yet their faith stops there.
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
The Bible also tells us; Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
If we aren’t living in a complete and total trust in the Lord, that means that our faith is misplaced. We can go through life trusting ourselves, or another person; we can depend on circumstances that say it can’t be done. Or we can rise above it all and trust God to the point that we know we will see Him do, exceeding, abundantly above all that we ask or think.
Chose to live by faith today. Let’s give God the opportunity to show Himself mighty. Believe God for the tough things today.
