There are times when we are “good tired.” What I mean is, that we work hard to accomplish a good task and it tends to wear us out. Our energy is spent on doing something that will benefit others. After we accomplish the desired task we can sit back and evaluate, contemplate and rehabilitate.
God’s word encourages us to continue in the work of the Lord even though we may be worn out. Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
God isn’t telling us not to rest, the goal is for us to finish the work He has given us. There is a need for rest, but not to just rest on our accomplishments. There is always more to do.
We need to remember that God also promises that we will be rewarded for the effort that we put into His work. We will reap the desired results from the work we do, if we chose to continue and not quit!
Many times, unfinished work is the result of a lack of patience and unfulfilled expectations. The desired results are not immediately seen, so people tend to give up. When we are doing the will of God, the work will eventually have the results that God intends if we remain faithful.
Get involved in the work of the Lord today. Commit to it, stay with it, and see it through until the end. You will be amazed at the results the Lord will bring because of the faithfulness of His children.
